In the 16th century, the slave trade devastated much of West Africa, causing long-lasting
devastation and suffering. The 21st-century migration from Africa appears to follow a similar path.
At the heart of both are those who profit economically from it: the slave traders of the past and the
profiteers of today.
Biografia
Chinedum Iregbu is a Nigerian director, producer, and editor. He graduated in Cinematic Arts from the National Film Institute in Nigeria and participated in the Berlinale Talent Campus. Before venturing into television content production, he directed several short films, including In Dele Giwa’s Shoes and Anfara, which won awards at the Nigerian Television Authority TVC Legacy Awards 2011. He also received the Emerging Filmmaker Award in 2012 at the Silicon Valley African Film Festival in the United States.
