A 99-year-old woman reflects on the life she built after being abandoned by her son during the Shining Path’s terrorist attacks in Peru. To fulfill a promise of reunion, she has spent decades selling her dreams as stories, hoping they will bring her family back on her 100th birthday.
Biografia
Samantha Avila is a Peruvian director and writer based in Mexico City. After earning a BA in Communication from the University of Lima, she founded the production company Res Films. In 2021, she was selected for Berlinale Talents Buenos Aires and is currently developing her debut feature film, Mother Tongue.
