Sinossi
Lingua Mater delves into the deep, almost “parental” bond individuals share with their mother tongue, highlighting the significance of minority languages—a vast cultural heritage often overlooked. The documentary is structured as a mosaic of voices, featuring linguists, tradition bearers, and everyday speakers who reveal the daily life of languages spoken by a few hundred people in a remote mountain village or by millions within larger communities. Through their joys and struggles, the film offers an evocative, multifaceted portrait of the emotional connection to one’s native language.
